Re- Programmed Art // An Open Manifesto

     editieren
    Workshop // 01 – 07 September 2014 // Lugano

The project “Re-programmed art: an open manifesto” aims at involving a group of digital artists in the process of reprogramming artworks by Gruppo T, an Italian collective of artists that pioneered the introduction of technology and of an algorithmic approach in the process of artistic production. During a one-week hacking session, artists are asked to expand the works by Gruppo T through the implementation of interactive behaviors designed through open source hardware and software technologies, and to release an open documentation under Creative Commons licenses in order to support reproducibility, extension and further participatory developments of these re-programmed artworks by the public at large.

The workshop is conceived and promoted by SUPSI and takes place at the FabLab in Lugano, 1-7 September 2014

    Exhibition // 05 – 29 March 2015 // Milan

Programmed art is the definition given to the body of works by a group of Italian artists active between the end of the fifties and the beginning of the sixties. This definition was introduced by Bruno Munari and Umberto Eco in 1961 on the occasion of an exhibition hosted at the Olivetti show room in Milan, featuring works by Munari, Enzo Mari and the artists of Gruppo T (Giovanni Anceschi, Davide Boriani, Gianni Colombo, Gabriele Devecchi, Grazia Varisco) and by Gruppo N. “Re-programmed art: an open manifesto” is the group exhibition showcasing the results of the reprogramming session of the artworks by Gruppo T and the experimental and collaborative experience of the workshop session carried out in Lugano.

The exhibition is hosted and organized by the association WeMake and takes place in Milan, opening on Thursday 5 March 2015.
